National park workamping jobs put you in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the United States. Whether it's Yellowstone's geysers, the Grand Canyon's rim, Glacier's alpine meadows, or Great Smoky Mountains' misty ridgelines — working inside a national park means your backyard is a world-class destination that millions of visitors travel thousands of miles to see.
Most paid positions inside national park boundaries are filled through concessioners — private companies authorized by the National Park Service to operate lodges, restaurants, gift shops, and campgrounds within park boundaries. These employers hire camp hosts, front-desk staff, kitchen workers, housekeepers, activity guides, and retail clerks on a seasonal basis, typically May through September. Some positions include on-site RV parking as part of the compensation package.
Volunteer positions inside national parks are managed directly by the National Park Service through its Volunteer-In-Parks program. Volunteer hosts receive a free campsite in exchange for 32 hours of weekly service. A few positions also include a small daily stipend, entrance passes, and access to NPS training and resources.
