When birds fly south for the winter, we keep their summer homes clean!

Bring the family to remove trash along the Potomac River on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! The marsh is key habitat for many animals & plants, though litter washing up from the nearby river can degrade the ecosystems on which they depend.

On the day of, check in at either Belle Haven Park's south parking lot or the Haul Road Trail bulletin board at 10:00 AM. We'll provide gloves, trash grabber tools, garbage bags, and hand sanitizer. Dress for cold weather with appropriate clothes & shoes, while warm gloves can be layered under work gloves; bring water to stay hydrated, too.

NOTE: This event may be cancelled for inclement weather. It's winter, after all...
