HitchPath Launches What Its Market Review Found to Be the First Dedicated Mobile App From a Major Workamping Job Board Finding a workamping job has always been a little different from a traditional job search.
The people looking for these positions are often traveling, living in an RV, moving between seasonal jobs or planning where they’ll spend the next few months. A laptop isn’t always nearby. A phone usually is. That’s one of the reasons we built the HitchPath mobile app.
The HitchPath app is now available for iPhone, giving workampers and camp hosts a dedicated way to search jobs, save opportunities, set alerts and apply to eligible positions while they’re on the road. But before we called the launch a first for the workamping industry, we wanted to see what was already out there. So we did some research.
We Reviewed 13 Workamping and Seasonal Job Platforms On September 29, 2026, HitchPath reviewed 13 companies and platforms serving workampers, RV travelers, seasonal workers and people looking for outdoor jobs.
The review included Workamper News, WorkampingJobs.com, Kamper Jobs, Workers on Wheels, RVer Job Exchange, CoolWorks, VagaJobs, WanderJobs, Occupation Wild, SeasonWorkers, Nomad Neighbor, Work Remotely and LOKATE.
We checked publicly available company websites and current mobile-app listings, including the Apple App Store where applicable. We were looking for something specific: a major job board whose primary focus is workamping or campground-host employment and that also offers a dedicated native mobile app for job seekers.
Based on that review, we did not find another major workamping-focused job board currently offering a comparable dedicated native mobile app. That distinction matters.
There are apps that serve RVers. There are apps with seasonal jobs. There are also general employment apps that include outdoor or temporary work. But that isn’t quite the same thing as building a mobile job-search experience specifically around workamping.
What We Found Workamper News is one of the oldest and best-known names in the workamping industry. Its history dates to 1987, and its current platform includes job listings, saved searches, favorite jobs, alerts and other resources for people who work while traveling. Its own website currently lists a mobile app as part of its future plans, rather than as a product available today. Workamper News and Kamper Jobs has also clearly recognized how important phones are to this audience. The company says nearly 70% of work campers view its job listings on a mobile device and emphasizes a mobile-friendly web experience. CoolWorks is another major player in the broader seasonal and outdoor-employment market. It offers job search, user accounts, saved searches, favorite employers and email alerts across national parks, resorts, ranches, camps and other destinations. We did find one important exception worth explaining. Nomad Neighbor has an iPhone app and includes job postings from participating campgrounds, including workamping and camp-host positions. But jobs are only one part of a much broader RV community platform that also includes campground notifications, rentals, services, on-site ordering and social features. App Store
That is why we are not claiming that HitchPath is the first app anywhere to ever display a workamping job. Our finding is narrower: among the major job boards we reviewed that are primarily focused on workamping and camp-host employment, HitchPath was the only one we found with a dedicated native mobile app currently available.
Why We Built It Workamping is already a mobile lifestyle. People search for jobs from campgrounds, rest stops, RV parks and wherever they happen to be traveling. Many are also planning far ahead, looking for their next summer or winter position while they are still working their current one.
We wanted HitchPath to fit that lifestyle instead of asking people to fit their lifestyle around a traditional job board. The iPhone app allows users to search workamping opportunities, open individual job listings, save jobs, create job alerts and apply to eligible HitchPath positions directly from their phone.
The website isn’t going anywhere. HitchPath.com will continue to be the full web platform. The app simply gives people another way to use it. This Is Only the Beginning Launching the iPhone app is an important step for HitchPath, but we don’t see the goal as simply being first. Being first only matters if the product remains useful.
We plan to continue improving the way workampers discover jobs, keep track of opportunities and connect with employers. The mobile app gives us another place to do that and another way to build around how people in this lifestyle actually travel and work.
Android is also planned, expanding the mobile experience to more workampers in the future. For now, iPhone users can download HitchPath directly from the Apple App Store and start searching from the road.
