Visitor Center Front Desk Assistant

We are looking for energetic individuals to help us at the front desk at the Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Center. We have midday shifts available Tuesdays-Fridays (9a-1p). We look for volunteers who enjoy teaching others and can spend time thoughtfully answering visitor questions. This position is geared towards individuals over the age of 18 who are able to commit to at least six months of volunteer work. This position can be very high paced on busy days but there are days when it is much slower.

Some of the tasks for this position will include

·      Welcoming visitors

·      Answering visitor questions

·      Playing park films and answer park phone

·      Working with park staff to provide excellent customer service

We are looking for self starters, individuals who are punctual, dependable, and good communicators (spoken and written). Bilingual is helpful but not necessary for this position.
