Edson Creek & Sixes River Campground

Host(s) is required to work 32 hours per week:

· Pick up litter along roadways, parking areas, day use area and campground

· Clean and stock restrooms at Edson Creek Campground and Sixes River Campground. Edson Creek contains 5 vault restrooms. There are two at Sixes Campground. Three cleans a week are expected at Edson and two cleaning a week at Sixes River. However, Edson's restrooms will be checked daily for supplies and emergency cleanups.

· Shovel fire pits (when fire debris has filled units.)

· Assist with cleaning interpretive panels, benches and other amenities

· Perform grounds maintenance such as weed eating and branch clearing.

Management Support and Site Presence

· Provide information to visitors and patrol for unauthorized use of campsites.

· Inform BLM staff and law enforcement of violations, emergency needs and other circumstances that require attention. The volunteer is not responsible for enforcement.

·  Provide accurate information to the public about recreational opportunities in the area

Additional requirements for Volunteer

· Provide trailer, 5^th wheel, or motorhome for personal accommodation

· Reside and fit in host site and be on site during peak visitation times of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

· Pets must be kept on a leash or otherwise physically restricted. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet and its behavior. No more than 2 dogs are permitted

· Attend volunteer training as requested or required by the volunteer supervisor such as basic first aid and CPR

· Must have personal vehicle for personal needs and a valid driver’s license for site host duties and pass a background check.

· Wear proper footwear and must be able to walk on a daily basis throughout the campground and perform duties in all weather conditions

· Days will schedule by Park Manager. Host may be off site or stay on site during days off.

Amenities:

Host site provides electricity, water and sewage hookups. A travel stipend of $340 is provided. A second volunteer may also earn a stipend of $340. (Stipends are paid through the National Office and may be delayed by government shutdowns or other events.)
