TTWW Columbus - Hosts (DeWayne Hayes)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway is looking to fill/recruit for positions in multiple locations in Mississippi and Alabama. Volunteers are needed at DeWayne Hayes Campground (Columbus, MS), Blue Bluff Campground (Aberdeen, MS), Town Creek Campground (West Point, MS), and Pickensville Campground (Pickensville, AL).

We are looking for volunteers to be hosts in the campground or gate attendants in the gatehouse. Hosts will be expected to blow off campsites and clean out firepits as needed. Volunteer gate attendants will be responsible for opening/closing gates and checking campers in/out through recreation.gov.

The schedule will be alternating 4 days on and 4 days off or possibly 3 days on and 6 days off schedule, approximately 24 hours per shift. These positions are not paid positions; however, for your commitment to volunteer, we will provide a full hook up campsite (electric, water, and sewer) in exchange for volunteer service for the duration of your stay. We also provide laundry services at the campground for your use.

You must provide your own RV/camper to live in and it is recommended for volunteers to have basic camping knowledge. The working environment consists of mostly outdoor activities. A basic background check will be conducted upon acceptance of the position.
