Visitor Center Assistant / Interpreter

This opportunity is perfect for a solo person or couples.

The volunteer(s) will assist with visitor center operations including guest orientation, providing accurate information to visitors and answering questions, conducting informal interpretation, and assisting with sales in the Western National Parks (WNP) store. The volunteer(s) will also rove park trails to provide informal interpretation and ensure compliance with park regulations, staff interactive, interpretive touch tables, assist with special events and programs, and work with park staff on various projects.

In exchange for 32 volunteer hours per week, the volunteer(s) will have use of an on-site RV/trailer pad with hookups, and use of a bathroom, shower and laundry building with ice machine. Volunteer(s) MUST have their own RV or trailer. Aztec Ruins NM does not have housing other than the two RV/trailer pads.

The time commitment is for two months minimum with possible extension. Openings begin November 1, 2026.
