The Clinton team is seeking one (1) to two (2) highly motivated, collaborative-minded individuals or couples to independently work in Woodbridge Park. If you like helping people, caring for our public lands and resources, and working in a beautiful outdoor setting - this could be a great opportunity for you!
Duties
Daily work involves assisting in the operation of a small, primitive campground area which primarily includes checking campsite occupancy, greeting visitors, and providing information and monitoring overall use. Work will require inspecting walk-in campsites along a 4.5 mile trail. Some minor cleaning, mowing, trimming and trail care may be required. Volunteers should be prepared to greet visitors and provide assistance, and work with other volunteers, Park Rangers and lake staff to ensure care of the park. Training, tools and supplies will be provided. Volunteers are not responsible for handling money/fees.
Commitment & Season
Services are needed April 15 - October 15, 2026. This position requires working 20 hours per week, spread across five-days each week. Skills needed include communication, organization, working collaboratively with a team, and ability to manage time and tasks independently. References requested. Driver's License and personal transportation required, and may be subject to a background check pending specific duties.

Amenities
In exchange for 20 hours of work per week, the selected volunteer(s) will receive a newly constructed full hook-up campsite (water, sewer and electric). Volunteer must provide their own road-legal, well-maintained RV or travel trailer and transportation to/from the site.
About the Area
Located approximately 40 miles west of Kansas City, MO near Lawrence, KS, in the beautiful and historic forested hills and grasslands of the Wakarusa valley of northeaster Kansas; Clinton Lake is a destination for campers, anglers, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
Woodridge Park encompasses 454 acres of oak and hickory forest and bluestem grass stands. The park provides a minimally-improved escape for camping and hiking along the lakeshore. The park has 15 primitive tent campsites, a water hydrant, and vault restroom (volunteer campsites are improved with water, sewer and electric hookups). In their free time, volunteers can enjoy wildlife viewing, hiking, paddle-craft access, fishing and other outdoor pursuits. Amenities in the area include medical facilities, pharmacy, grocery, and laundry within 17-miles.
