Red Cedar Removal on Green Island (NPLD)

Celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD)—the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands—and join us in removing invasive Eastern Red Cedar from Green Island Recreation Area near Yankton, SD!

• WHEN: Saturday, September 26^th from 8am-12pm
• WHERE: Meet at the Riverside Park Boat Ramp in Yankton, SD. Get a boat ride to Green Island Recreation Island!
• WHAT: Once we get to Green Island, we'll set out cutting down Eastern Red Cedar saplings using loppers and shears, promoting biodiversity and helping other native plants thrive! Cutting down the saplings can be strenuous and involves frequent bending. 
• WHO CAN VOLUNTEER: All ages are welcome! Anyone under 15 will need a parent/guardian present.
• WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, water, sunscreen, and insect repellant.
