Education Specialist Volunteer 2026

Help inspire the next generation of leaders by joining our team of Education Volunteers at President’s Park! This position supports the mission of the National Park Service by providing youth with meaningful and hands‑on learning experiences connected to the history, culture, and natural resources of this iconic site. Volunteers will help Girl Scouts build a sense of connection to national parks, explore civic engagement, and make progress toward earning badges, the Girl Scout Ranger Certificate, and the Girl Scout Ranger Patch.

As a volunteer, you will welcome Girl Scouts of all ages (Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes) and lead guided programs and interactive activities throughout President’s Park and the White House Visitor Center, introducing scouts to park resources, presidential history, and civic themes. Using park‑developed lesson plans, you’ll facilitate badge workshops and guide hands‑on discovery to ensure scouts meet the requirements for each badge offered. Volunteers supervise small groups (up to 10 scouts), monitor engagement and safety, and adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Volunteers will participate in required training, learn program content and best practices for youth engagement, and join staff in debriefs to help improve future workshops. This is a great role for enthusiastic, adaptable individuals who enjoy public speaking, teamwork, and empowering young people.
