When litter washes up on this island's shores, we mustache for your help removing it!
Pitch in to assist our partners Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail with cleaning up garbage around Theodore Roosevelt's island memorial! Both a unique recreational green space and one end of the iconic Mount Vernon Trail, this monument to such a famed outdoorsman deserves to be pollution-free for everyone's enjoyment.
Gather at the parking lot end of the island's access bridge at 9:00 AM to meet Friends' volunteer leaders; they'll have all the equipment and information you'll need for a successful morning of trash gathering. Be sure to wear protective clothing if you plan on venturing into the brush in your search for garbage, as there may be thorns and/or poison ivy.
Avoid a close shave of missing out on this opportunity; sign up below and at the Friends' website right hair!
