Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Everglades National Park on Saturday, September 26 for an engaging community science project! We will be leading a wet walk BioBlitz identifying and documenting species found inside a Cypress Dome. Participants will get an introduction to iNaturalist and then join Rangers on an educational wet walk identifying plants and animals. Please see below for more details and program requirements. We will be meeting at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at 9:00am and caravanning to site. Park admission will be free. Up to 25 participants. Ages 12 and up. Please download iNaturalist app prior to arrival.


Itinerary

9:00am: Meet at Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center

  • Sign Volunteer Waiver
  • Introduction to iNaturalist

10:00: Caravan to Cypress Dome


10:30-12:30: Wet Walk Bioblitz


What to Bring:

  • Long Pants (quick dry pants are best)
  • Close toed shoes (sneakers best, no crocs)
  • Water
  • Sunscreen
  • Sense of Wonder
