Special Event Volunteers supplement the park capacity's to ensure visitor safety and provide quality visitor experience by supporting operations for special events and high-visitation days.
Duties include:
- Assisting with special event set-up and take-down including moving chairs, tents, tables, and signs.
- Safely directing car traffic in parking areas.
- Safely driving low-speed electric vehicle to shuttle visitors within the park.
- Interact with visitors in the field, visitor center, or information tent to answer questions, provide directions, and contribute to a positive visitor experience.
All volunteers must:
- Foster culture of cooperation, professionalism, respect, and safety as a contributing member of the park team.
- Develop knowledge and awareness of the park’s programs, operations, and safety procedures through participation in park-led training.
- Learn and follow park radio and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all rules, guidelines, and laws in place by the park, the National Park Service, and federal government including the Saint-Gaudens NHP Volunteer Policy.
- Maintain a log of volunteer service hours either manually or digitally.
