Grover Park area is a popular recreation site on the Bridger-Teton National Forest, close to town and with a diverse user group. The area offers amazing access to fishing, kayaking, camping hiking, OHV trails and horseback riding. The nearby town of Afton has all the you could need, including a post office, grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants. Nearby are the town of Jackson Hole, as well as Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
This role would be focused on dispersed camping, and the volunteer ambassador would provide visitors with responsible recreation education and keep an eye on overall conditions of the area. The ambassador will greet campers, provide them with information on how to camp responsibly; respecting stay limits, remembering to put out fires, pack out trash and dispose of human waste properly. Other duties include improving signage, checking fire-rings for abandoned campfires and communicating area-specific needs and issues to a Forest Service supervisor.
Candidate will need to have their own RV/trailer for this role, and the ambassador will stay in a dispersed campsite for the summer (no hook-up's available on site).
