Have a green thumb and passionate about history? We invite you to become a Gardener VIP at Manhattan Project National Historical Park in Oak Ridge, Tennessee! Join us in caring for the park's victory & pollinator gardens.


Responsibilities

As a Gardener VIP, your primary duties will include:

  • Maintain a reproduction Victory Garden: An outpouring of both wartime necessity and patriotic duty, gardens like these provided nourishment across the home front. Today the park's garden produces for local food pantries.
    • General garden tasks include but are not limited to: weeding, watering, pruning, and harvesting of vegetables.
  • Participate in special community activities as schedule allows such as the Seeds of Victory: Open Gardens program.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in the gardens.

Qualifications

Passion for gardening and history

Ability to and enjoyment for working outdoors in varying weather conditions.


NO Housing or Reimbursements

No housing, campsites or other arrangements for sleeping quarters.
