National Public Lands Day: Theodore Roosevelt Island Invasive Plant Removal

Orange you excited for National Public Lands Day?

Join us in honoring the nation's shared natural spaces through conservation by removing invasive vines from Theodore Roosevelt Island! We're focusing on the northern part of this beautiful urban oasis to free native plants from strangling vegetation. 

Gather with fellow volunteers at the island's parking lot around 10 minutes before the starting time of 1:00 PM; use the noted coordinates to navigate and meet at the far end of the lot near the pedestrian bridge. Once everyone has arrived, we'll walk together to the worksite. Please wear long pants/sleeves + closed-toe shoes (sneakers, boots, etc.) and bring your own water.

Important information:

• This event will run from 1 pm to 3 pm
• There are restrooms onsite.
• All equipment will be provided.
• If anyone is under 18 or you are bringing someone who is, reach out to the site contact ahead of time. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
