Bardwell Lake Landscaping and Maintenance Volunteer

Position Overview:

Volunteers are needed for landscaping and grounds maintenance at the Bardwell Lake Dam located in Ennis, Texas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This historic site, constructed in the late 1960s, provides flood control, water conservation, and recreational opportunities for the community. Volunteers will assist with maintaining the beauty of the area, ensuring that the grounds are well-kept and presentable for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Landscape Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, and edging lawns and turf areas.

Groundskeeping: Raking leaves, picking up litter, and general grounds cleaning to maintain the aesthetic value of the site.

Plant Care: Planting, weeding, and watering flowers, shrubs, and trees throughout the site.

Trail Maintenance: Clearing and maintaining walking trails to ensure safe and pleasant experiences for park visitors.

General Maintenance: Performing tasks to preserve the quality of the landscape, including debris removal and seasonal tasks such as preparing for weather changes.

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in a variety of weather conditions.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

A passion for environmental stewardship and maintaining the natural beauty of public spaces.

Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance is beneficial but not required.
