Want to make a real difference in keeping our shared spaces beautiful and accessible? Want to spend time enjoying nature? Join us for Katahdin Woods and Waters: Community Creativity & Clean‑Up Day on Saturday September 19th, from 11am to 1pm. As part of National Public Lands Day, participants of our event can expect various artistic activities, guided nature walks, and can even volunteer to clean up the paths around the Tekαkαpimək Contact Station
No special skills required — just your enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in! All supplies and tools will be provided along with a safety talk. Volunteers, alongside Katahdin Woods and Waters staff, will use small hand tools to clear debris, trim overgrowth, and show some love to the paths around the Tekαkαpimək Contact Station.
Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants and sleeves (breathable, light-weight), a hat, sunscreen, bug spray or a bug net, and bring food and water! Volunteers may bring their own work gloves and eye protection if they'd prefer.
Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times when volunteering.
