Trail Volunteer

Volunteer will be expected to perform the duties of an entry-level trail worker. Duties will include basic trail maintenance and construction tasks. Volunteer is expected to abide by the Amistad NRA Maintenance Crew's standard safety protocols and represent the Park and program in a professional manner.

·      Perform simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds

·      Assist Maintenance Staff in the performance of their work

·      Perform specifically assigned tasks such as removing brush, weeds, and litter.

·      Cutting back overgrown vegetation from trail corridors, using hand saws, hand snips, and loppers.

·      Clearing drainage features on trails.

·      Constructing and repairing trail structures such as trail benches and shade structures.

·      Monitor the trails for safety hazards.

·      Follow established safety procedures and practices when using hand and power equipment.

·      Clean tools and equipment

·      Collect trash and debis from trail

·      Perform routine landscaping work to include operating push and riding mowers, power edgers and trimmers.

·      Load and unload vehicles by hand. Ensure that cargo is properly secured and protected from the weather.
