Interpretation & Visitor Center Assistant (FY26)

What you will do:

• Engage with visitors by providing essential park information, safety updates, and a welcoming volunteer experience.
• Assist with daily operations at the Malaquite Visitor Center.
• May have the opportunity to lead interpretive programs such as guided beach walks, fixed-station interpretation, etc.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all other volunteers, Park staff, and visitors.

Commitment:

• There is a minimum one day a week to volunteer for this position.
• Core working hours of 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Exact hours can be flexible.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• No housing or RV sites are provided for this position.



Physical Requirements & Health Considerations:

• As a volunteer within the interpretation & education division, you must be able to stand, sit, and work for extended periods of time.
• You may be required to work in varying weather conditions including elevated temperatures, sun exposure, high humidity, rain, wind, etc.
• Must be comfortable walking on uneven terrain.
• Must be comfortable interacting with the public.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be comfortable taking supervision and feedback.
