Field Interpretation Volunteer

Do you like spending time in the great outdoors? Do you enjoy teaching others? If so, apply to be a Field Interpretation Volunteer at Little River Canyon National Preserve!

Little River Canyon National Preserve is looking for volunteers to give interpretive and educational programs to visitors this summer. Program topics can range from geology, wildlife, plants, water ecology, or history, depending on your personal interests. You will receive coaching and feedback from National Park Service rangers to help you give the best programs possible with confidence.

As a Field Interpretation Volunteer, you will also interact with visitors informally at scenic overlooks, on trails, and in other high-traffic areas throughout the park. In these informal interactions, you will answer questions and orient visitors to the park.

This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in a career with the National Park Service or other state and federal land management agencies to learn more about front-line park operations. This position is also well-suited to educators or those with experience in customer service who enjoy interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.
