Education Assistant

Are you a retired teacher, or an education major in college looking for something outside of the classroom, ore even a current teacher looking for a way to use your skills outside of the classroom? If so, this position may be for you.

The Volunteer will be a part of the Interpretive Team. They will assist with the creation and presentation of curriculum-based education programs. These programs may be formal or informal as well as virtual or in-person. Other duties may include educational trainings for staff and teachers, upkeep of education kits, assisting with summer camps, and any other additional educational task. The park often hosts field trips for local schools during the spring and fall. For the past few years, the park has also hosted history and science summer camps.

The volunteer will be encouraged to research, design and develop unique curriculum on topics approved by the Interpretive team. While the park is most well-known for its Revolutionary History there are many other possibilities for educational opportunities.

Hours will be determined and agreed on by both the volunteer and their supervisor.
