National Public Lands Day- Miners Beach

To celebrate Public Lands Day, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is hosting a clean-up event at Miners Castle Beach. Drop in at any time on Friday, October 2 between 11:00am and 2:00pm to help clean up litter and debris on the beach and in the surrounding area. The first 20 volunteers will receive a Fee-Free day coupon for entrance at participating public lands good to use through September 27, 2027!

Volunteers should meet rangers near the Miners Beach public parking lot and bathrooms.

Trash bags, buckets, trash grabbers, gloves, and high visibility vests will be available to participants. All volunteers are encouraged to bring bug spray, sunscreen, water, and snacks. It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and wear closed toe shoes.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

You may apply through this site and the volunteer coordinator will move you along in the process to fill out paperwork so that when you arrive to the event you can get volunteering. Or, you can complete volunteer paperwork when you arrive for the volunteer event.
