The Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) is hosting a Habitat Restoration Day on October 24, 2026, from 8:00am to 11:00am within the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. This volunteer event is in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles (who manage the land) in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (who own the land) for habitat restoration.

Join the Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) and the California Native Plant Society to volunteer to remove invasive mustard within the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve and learn about its impact on the ecosystem and why its removal is vital to restoring California’s native habitat. Afterward, the San Fernando Valley Audubon Society will lead a nature-filled walk around the Reserve.

*Please sign up for free through FoLAR's website at: https://folar.org/events/

[NOTE: If you accidentally sign up through Volunteer.gov, you will receive an email with instructions to contact FoLAR to sign up through their organization.]
