Homestead National Historical Park is a National Park Service (NPS) site dedicated to the many legacies of the Homestead Act of 1862. Homestead National Historical Park manages a robust field trip program designed to connect learners to the homesteading story while meeting K - 12 learning standards. Field trips include many different hands-on activities to achieve learning objectives. The volunteers who hold this position are responsible for assisting and/or leading the Park's field trip activities. In doing so, they practice and develop skills in place-based education. The Education Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator will provide training and will inform field trip aides of upcoming opportunities.
