Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is looking for a dedicated volunteer who is willing to repair and sew Civil War-Era clothes. Responsibilities associated with this position generally include sorting and hanging clothing, helping with clothing inventory, repairing period-appropriate sewing equipment, and ironing, repairing, and sewing period clothes such as shirts, pants, coats, blouses, jackets, etc.
Ability to help train other volunteers to repair and care for them is a plus.
Sewing experience is REQUIRED for this position. Guidance will be provided by park staff! Hours of work will generally be four to six hours a week for one day a week during the spring, summer, and fall.
