SkillBridge Visitor Services Volunteer

Chamizal National Memorial has a unique SkillBridge opportunity for an active-duty military service member in their last 180 days of service. The service member will train in Visitor Services and be responsible for supporting the Interpretation team and guiding visitors.

SkillBridge is a program from the Department of Defense to help service members develop work experience and skills to help them as they transition out of military service and into civilian workforce.  

What You’ll Learn / What You’ll Do:

🌿 Welcome and orient visitors to Chamizal National Memorial

🗺️ Provide information about park history, programs, facilities, and services

🎟️ Assist at the visitor center desk and during special events

🧭 Support visitor flow, accessibility needs, and general park navigation

🤝 Develop customer service and communication skills in a public setting

📚 Learn about the park’s mission, cultural significance, and interpretive themes
