The Army Corps of Engineers- Dworshak Project depends on their staff of volunteers, to meet the needs of the visitors to our project. 54-mile long Dworshak Dam and Reservoir is located on the North Fork of the Clearwater River. The Dam is located five minutes from Orofino, while Dent Acres Campground is about a 35 min. drive to Orofino. Orofino has everything from a hospital, library, movie theater, grocery stores, and an amazing County Fair in September. We are located in a mountain valley with amazing scenery, and lots of wildlife.
We are seeking 10 volunteers to fill four (4) positions with flexible start and end dates.
1) Dent Acres Campground Host
2) Dent Acres Interpretive Services
3) Visitor Center Tour Guide/Info
4) Visitor Center Maintenance/Grounds/Janitorial
What you can expect from us:
· Full-service hookups with 50-amp service

· $250.00 boot reimbursement for maintenance positions
· Rotating schedules (20-32 hrs per week)

Summary of Duties
1. Dent Acres Campground Host
· Cleaning campsites and fire rings
· Picking up litter, emptying garbage cans, mowing lawns, operating a weed eater
· Trimming branches, painting, and using the blower.
· Assisting visitors with checking in and checking out of campsites
· Putting out reservation tags
· Answering general questions about the facility and the area
Transportation and supplies for completing tasks are provided. Other duties as assigned
2. Dent Interpretive Volunteer
Your job duties at Dent Acres would include:
· Providing educational programs to the visiting public
· The volunteer/s selected for this position must enjoy people and customer service!
· This is a new position that will have fixed days on with Friday and Saturday night campfire programs and child specific programs on Sunday mornings, as well as another half day.
· Assisting visitors with checking in and checking out of campsites, putting out reservation tags, and answering questions.
· Other duties as assigned
3. Visitor Center Tour Guide/Info
This positions duties include:
· Greet visitors, give tours, assist in the daily operations of the visitor center and operate audio-visual equipment
· Open and close the Visitor Center, answer questions and the telephone, use two way radios
· During the tour season, we give 2 tours daily of the dam, the dam is ¾ of a mile long, so you will need to be prepared to walk at least a few miles each day. You may also be asked to assist staff in interpretative programs and special events.
4. Visitor Center Maintenance/Grounds/Janitorial Volunteer
Your job duties at Dworshak Project would include:
· Cleaning restrooms, campsites and fire rings
· Picking up litter, emptying garbage cans
· Mowing lawns, operating a weed eater, trimming branches
· Painting, and using the blower at our units around the visitor center. Transportation and supplies for completing tasks are provided.
