Please join Fort Circle REC, the Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts, and the National Park Service on National Public Lands Day for a special work session on the Fort Davis section of the Hiker-Biker Trail to get the trail in great shape for fall and ready for more ambitious winter projects!

**In honor of National Public Lands Day, and thanks to the National Environmental Education Foundation, all volunteers who complete the event are eligible for a coupon that grants fee-free entry at any participating federal recreation or visitor site within one calendar year.**

Volunteers will gather at 9am for a welcome briefing and orientation, divide into teams of at least three, get a trail segment and task assignment, and spend 1.5-2 hours on maintenance tasks. The work could include trimming overgrowth, raking debris, removing trash, and documenting trail sections and features that need more attention. Immediately following the work session, there will be gathering with refreshments and recognition of volunteer accomplishments from our last work day.

Volunteers should wear pants, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Volunteers do not need any special skills or equipment. A Fort Circle REC volunteer leader will provide guidance and all supplies and equipment needed.

Meeting time and location: 9am at Carpenter Street SE and Texas Avenue SE

Duration: 9am-12pm

Point of contact: Kyle Murphy, FortCircleREC@gmail.com
