FY26 Fall River Ranger District Volunteer Days

Volunteer for Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands within our Fall River District in South Dakota!

Upcoming Volunteer Day

• When: May 26th, 2026
• Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Where: French Creek Campground
• Description: Removal of unneeded fence and the possibility of planting trees within the French Creek Campground.
• Age: 16+ years old preferred; minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Please contact the the Forest Service Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Bennett - sarah.bennett@usda.gov, if you plan on bringing a minor (below 18-year-olds); they do NOT sign up through the site. We will provide the Parent/Guardian with the paperwork to onboard the minor as a volunteer.
• Volunteers should bring: water, snacks, sunscreen, dress appropriate for the weather and project, wear boots and bring work gloves (preferably leather).
