Just flying in to announce a major volunteer opportunity!
Our partners Potomac Riverkeeper Network are holding a HUGE event to remove garbage from the LBJ Memorial Grove, an occasion so large that it's not just confined to land: kayaks are also available to clean up litter from the water!
Whether by foot or paddle, we encourage you to join the fun! Park by the Columbia Island Marina and meet group leaders at 11:00 AM; they'll have all the necessary gear, including limited rentable kayaks, though personal boats are welcome, too. Rentals are $12.51 per person, and both renting & bringing one's own require advance notification. Kayaking is optional, so if you don't want or are unable to, there's plenty of litter to locate on land!
