Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is seeking a local volunteer willing to assist in maintaining the beauty of Little Rock’s local National Park Service unit!


The Primary Duties of this Position will Include:

·        Trash pick-up

·        Garden bed weeding and maintenance

·        Leaf raking and removal


Working Environment and Safety Considerations for the Grounds Maintenance Assistant Volunteer include:


·        Comfortable being outside for extended time periods (2+ hours)

·        Comfortable and able to work outside in Arkansas wide ranging and sometime unpredictable climate particularly as it comes to excessive heat, direct sun and cooler winters

·        Ability to use appropriate PPE (gloves, ear and eye protection, etc.) 

·        Ability to perform physical labor such as lifting, squatting, bending, crouching, and carrying heavy or cumbersome objects such as yard waste and large trash bags

·        Ability and willingness to work with others 


The Grounds Maintenance Assistant Volunteer Position has a flexible schedule. The Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10am to 4pm CST.
