2026 Fall & Winter Museum Docent

The Yosemite Museum needs your help! We are seeking responsible, trustworthy volunteers to staff the museum information desk during several temporary exhibits planned for 2026. Docents will be responsible for opening and closing the exhibit daily, act as security, provide information to visitors, and perform basic routine housekeeping.

Volunteer will serve as museum docent under the supervision of the museum curator and/or registrar.

The position is sedentary. Volunteer will sit at the desk in the temporary exhibit gallery from 10a- 4pm or 10a-5p (depending on time of year) with a break for lunch between 12p-1p. Docents are responsible for opening and closing the exhibit daily, enforcing proper visitor behavior, providing information to visitors, and performing basic routine housekeeping. A park service cultural demonstrator will be available during docent shifts if issues arise.
