Volunteer Researcher

Interested in helping to uncover new stories, connections, and details of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement? As a volunteer researcher, you will work alongside our cultural resources team to conduct research into the work and lives of the Evers family and help us improve our understanding of their impact on the history of this community, state, and country.

What You'll Do: As a volunteer researcher, you will spend time in digital and in-person archives such as the MS Dept. of Archives and History, Civil Rights Movement Archives (CRMVET), and others to research the Evers Family, Civil Rights Movement, and other related topics as a part of ongoing research projects being conducted by the cultural resources staff.

Why Volunteer? The work you will do as a volunteer researcher will directly impact the stories we tell, and how the public learns and understands the Evers story, impacted tens of thousands of individuals ever year. You will also be able to improve research and writing skills, build your research experience, and be eligible for a free Volunteers Pass to other National Park sites after completing 250 hours of service.
