Join us virtually or in-person and become a Weed Warrior!

This hybrid training will give you the knowledge, skills, and techniques to lead volunteers in removing invasive plants in our region's parks and green spaces.

Participants are taught to properly identify and manage non-native, invasive plants, so they can support efforts to improve the health of our urban forests on public lands and conservation sites.

The Weed Warrior volunteer program empowers community members to independently steward parkland and natural areas by removing invasive plants in their area.

Please note that this training has TWO parts. Both parts are required to become a Weed Warrior.

  • Part 1 is this hybrid training event, which you can join virtually via Zoom OR in person at 3030 12th Street NE DC.
  • Part 2 will be held outdoors in person on Saturday, November 14, at multiple park locations. We will share the exact sites and locations during the first training.

No prior experience is necessary to attend this training and become a Weed Warrior. For those attending in person, dinner and refreshments will be provided.
