Fort Frederica is looking for facilities services volunteers. Fort Frederica NM is located on beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Park is looking for motivated individuals that can assist our small staff with basic maintenance and projects. Fort Frederica consists of 350 acres of which about 50 acres are part of a maintained landscape. There are several miles of trails and numerous historic buildings and ruins that need constant upkeep.

We are looking for individuals who can assist with carpentry, vehicle/equipment maintenance, trail/grounds maintenance, and other tasks.


  • QUARTERLY VOLUNTEERING: Volunteers that live outside of the local area and wishing to stay at Fort Frederica, will be provided an RV pad with full hookups, on-site laundry, and Wi-Fi. These Volunteers are required to work 30 hours a week to maintain their position with RV pad. Only volunteers 18 years and older may qualify for RV pad/housing unless they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.  
    • 1st Quarter: January - March
    • 2nd Quarter: April - June
    • 3rd Quarter: July - September
    • 4th Quarter: October - December

Volunteer daily/weekly schedules will be determined with supervisor and are generally flexible.


Local Volunteers are not required to stay on RV sites and are requested to volunteer a minimum 1 day a month.
