Volunteers will assist with the daily management of visitor interactions, helping promote the public engagement and involvement with the park site. Volunteers will assist visitors with information about the site, junior ranger booklets, guided tours and other facility tasks. Volunteers can be placed in one key position, or engage with several of their choosing.


Key Positions:

1. Visitor Information Center Clerk - Volunteers will manage the front desk of Federal Hall, being the first interaction point with visitors. Will serve as a check in and volunteer will offer to discuss the site and exhibits on display.


2. Guided Tour - Volunteers will assist rangers by providing guided tours for the small groups during designated tour times and days which are open to the public with no prior reservation


3. Site Enthusiast - Volunteer will be around the site checking in with visitors and assisting them with any historical information or questions to enhance the visitor experience 


Qualifications:

● Timely (for shifts)

● Friendly and strong communication skills with visitors

● Ability to stand and walk

● Comfortability commuting to the site

● Historically knowledgeable or able to learn


Training:

● Orientation and on-site training provided

● Volunteer will complete all necessary government forms

● Volunteer will complete training manual, as well as review all site specific policy

● Volunteer will observe and shadow guided tours and CVA on site to learn interaction, increasing their involvement


Uniform and Identity:

● The volunteer will be provided with a uniform to be worn when on duty in the office
