The Naches Ranger District is striving to host a backcountry trail crew that would work primarily in our three wilderness areas clearing trail, performing trail maintenance- repairing erosion controls structures such as water bars, repairing tread damage, and repairing damaged trail structures; inventorying backcountry conditions, installing and maintaining trail directional signage, markers and bulletin boards. This crew will primarily be led by a backcountry trail crew lead volunteer.

All volunteers will be trained on how to properly use trail maintenance tools and techniques, saw certifications for both chainsaw and crosscut may be available, and health and safety training on working in the backcountry. All tools and equipment will be provided, you bring the desire to assist with bringing our trails back into good status, a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

The district has some identified projects but we value volunteer input so if volunteers bring projects forward we will listen!

Public contacts will be made while out working on the trail and customer service will be required to answer questions and provide basic information to those inquiring. The district can provide background information if needed.
