Head out into this thriving wildlife preserve to count butterflies & dragonflies with our partners Friends of Dyke Marsh! These gorgeous gliders act as "indicator species," their populations reflecting their ecosystems' health, so keeping track of them is key to conserving the park. Plus, spotting aerial beauties is always fun to do anyway!

Everyone meets in the Belle Haven Picnic Area parking lot at 8:00 AM. No prior experience or specialized knowledge is required, just your eyes and a sense of adventure! Please wear sturdy hiking shoes & bring water, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent with you. You can use binoculars, a camera, or even just your phone to spot our airborne dazzlers.
