We are looking for a host opportunity in Haugan, Montana at the Savenac Historic Tree Nursery, with easy access to Interstate 90. The compound is an historic tree nursery now used as a low-key visitor center with self-guided interpretive trails and cabin rentals on site are made available to the public through the Cabin Rental Program. This is a fun position that offers a variety of tasks and a chance to work with other great volunteers that share the duties. Sites are equipped with 30- and 50-amp electrical service with full hookup utilities including propane. Washer/Dryers are available on site.

This position has lots of outdoor work with opportunities to explore western Montana on days off. Volunteers work 4 days per week with 3 days off

Job description,

  • Building maintenance.
  • Covering the Visitor Center schedule, greet guests, provide information and help orientate.
  • General lawn mowing, weed trimming and raking.
  • Monitor and stock the cabin rentals and inspect before renters departure.
  • Equipment operation, riding lawn mowers, weed trimmers and blowers.
  • Minor equipment maintenance.
