2026/2027 Zion National Park Group Volunteer Events

Zion National Park accepts applications for group volunteer service projects throughout the year. We collaborate with schools, universities, businesses, corporations, local nature clubs, community organizations, and more to bring volunteers to the park!

The majority of our group projects are one-day, one-time, 4-hour events removing litter and graffiti on one of the parks front country trails. Each trail offers a unique experience of Zion Canyon. Trails are rated "easy, moderate, and strenuous" and range from a 0.5-mile roundtrip to a 9.4 mile roundtrip. Most trails have a group size limit of 12-20 hikers.

Some one-day, one-time, 4-hour group projects address seasonal needs such as invasive plant removal, native plant restoration, and river clean up. These projects may be able to accommodate a larger group up to 30-40 attendees.

For one-day, one-time projects, the ZION Volunteer Office ask that interested groups reach out a minimum of 3 weeks in advance. During spring and fall, our project schedule can fill up quickly!

Groups interested in overnight or two-day+ projects should contact us at least 2-3 months in advance.

The minimum group size for these events is 5 volunteers.
