2026 Facilities Restoration Volunteer

Help preserve and restore the developed facilities of Yosemite National Park by volunteering with Facilities Management team. Facilities Restoration Volunteers work alongside National Park Service employees to improve the condition, appearance, and longevity of park infrastructure that supports millions of visitors each year. Volunteers assist with a variety of restoration and rehabilitation projects throughout Yosemite's developed areas. Duties may include restoring picnic tables, site furnishing, sand and preparing wood surfaces, assisting with minor carpentry and repairs, removing damaged materials, cleaning and organizing maintenance work areas, transporting tools and supplies, and supporting facility rehabilitation, preservation, and beautification projects. Assignments vary based on seasonal priorities and park needs. Volunteers receive orientation, task-specific safety training, and direct supervision from National Park Service Staff. Operation of hand tools, power tools, and sanding equipment is permitted only after required training, supervisor authorization, completion of applicable safety documentation, and while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). No previous restoration experience is required. This opportunity is available on a full time or part-time basis depending on project needs and volunteer availability. Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve lifting materials, walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, and working in a variety of weather conditions. As a Facilities Restoration Volunteer, you'll play a direct role in preserving Yosemite's historic and modern facilities, helping ensure that visitors can safely enjoy one of America's treasured national parks for generations to come.
