Campground Host - Cottonwood Springs Lake

Primary Responsibilities:

-Daily upkeep of all comfort stations and vault toilets by cleaning toilets and restocking toilet paper as needed.

-Daily litter collection in campground and day use areas.

-Weekly cleaning of fire pits. Make sure there is not any hot ambers in the ash when disposing of the ash.

-Greet campers periodically on your daily walks at a minimum of once between 8-10 AM and once between 6-9 PM, providing Cottonwood Springs brochure, rules, or other USACE materials as necessary.

- Communicate with Park Rangers about any issues that arise.

 -Communicate to campers of any weather advisories as indicated by the Park Rangers.

 -Inform campers of the campground rules when not in compliance unless the situation is hostile or the Camp Host is uncomfortable doing so, in which case contact a Park Ranger to assist, enforcement is the responsibility of the Park Ranger.

-Work week will consist of a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 25 hours.

The non-workdays will be Wednesday and Thursday.

-If the need for assistance arises the Camp Host will notify the Park Ranger on duty or the Permanent Ranger if no other Rangers are working, unless it is an emergency you will call 911. After the emergency, when safe to do so the Permanent Ranger will be notified.

-All motorized vehicles used will be Registered and Insured.

- It is extremely important for volunteers to set the example by following of all the Title 36 and campground rules.

-No personal property will be stored in Government buildings and all lost and found items will be turned over to the Park Ranger within 24 hours.

-Volunteers are required to track the number of hours they work a week. Service record sheets for this purpose will be provided. These sheets are to be delivered to the Park Ranger at the end of each month.

Secondary Responsibilities:

-Create a temporary community through communication between park visitors and personnel. Help keep Cottonwood Springs a friendly place for outdoor recreation and socialization that the entire family can enjoy.

-Provide valuable information on how to improve our parks by maintaining open communication with Rangers and passing on ideas for improvement gathered from daily interaction with visitors.
