Come get into the festive spirit with us at the White House and President’s Park! Volunteers are invited to help decorate the state and territory trees at the National Christmas Tree site on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
We’re excited that this opportunity falls on Family Volunteer Day, a national day of service held each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Families are welcome to volunteer together, and children ages 8 and older are invited to participate. Please note that volunteers under 18 cannot register through Volunteer.gov. If you plan to bring children ages 8–18, please send us an email letting us know how many children you will be bringing so that we can make sure everyone is accounted for.
The event will take place outdoors on the Ellipse, so please dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to spend most of the event outside.
The National Christmas Tree, located south of the White House on the Ellipse, is displayed alongside 58 trees featuring student-designed ornaments representing the United States’ 56 states and territories, as well as schools managed by the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Indian Education and the Department of Defense Education Activity.
