Start your weekend off with an act of Stewardship Volunteering!

Times: 9am -Noon or 12:30pm until 3:30pm

Age: 16+ years old preferred; minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Please discuss with the Site Contact if you plan on bringing a minor with (16–17-year-olds); they do NOT sign up through the site. We will provide the Parent/Guardian with the paperwork to onboard them as a volunteer.

Dates: The 4th Friday of each month starting in April and ending in October. Alternatively, the 4th Wednesday of each month April - October.

  • The proposed projects are NOT an event where you show up on these days unless otherwise noted at the top of this opportunity.
  • The Site Contact will coordinate with you to determine arrival days and times.

Safety Gear: Wall Ranger District can provide gloves, hardhats, safety glasses and tools.

Volunteers should bring: water, lunch, sunscreen and wear long sleeves and pants.

Camping: Camping is available at our first-come, first-served Pinnacles Dispersed Camping Area. We CANNOT guarantee a reserved site.


Proposed Project:

Pinnacles- Fire ring installation, log-worm fencing and kiosk installation can be done in 2 or 3 project days depending on the volunteer turnout. Heavy equipment will be used so PPE is required.

Railroad Buttes- Trail and trailhead maintenance would involve cleaning up the trailhead from trash and repairing damaged fencing and signage.

Proposed Project:

Baja ORV area- Trailhead maintenance and portal sign replacement will involve heavy equipment. Boundary sign installation will require volunteers to offroad in 4x4 vehicles to the boundary of the Baja area to install carsonite signs with stickers. Avenza Maps will be used to locate boundary.

Number of People: 4-8

Proposed Project:

Indian Creek- We will be removing an old wooden kiosk and replacing it with a new metal kiosk sign.

We also need assistance installing carsonite signs on unauthorized routes along Forest Rd 7129 and 7176. This will require 4x4 vehicles.

Number of People: 2-10

Proposed Project:

French Creek Campground- Volunteers will remove existing old fencing and build new fence similar to buck-n-rail. This project is best for a September date to give time to purchase materials.
