Join the battle to clean up the woods by the US Marine Corps War Memorial on National Public Lands Day! Armed up with grabbers, bags, clippers, and loppers, a battalion of volunteers like you are decisive in removing garbage and clearing smothering vegetation. Invasives like porcelain berry threaten to overtake this serene patch of forest while strewn waste endangers ecosystem & wildlife health, but your efforts can repel these dangers to keeps the woods healthy!

Meet at the restrooms at 10:00 AM where a National Park Service representative will have all the equipment you'll need for the morning. Since we'll be working in and around overgrown areas, we highly recommend wearing long sleeves + pants to protect against thorns and possible poison ivy. The restrooms have a water bottle filler for easy hydration, and there's plentiful parking by the Memorial.
