The Aspen-Sopris Ranger District is looking for hosts for the Maroon Bells Scenic Area in September and October 2026. Hosts would help manage 3 campgrounds, 2 day use areas, visitor information, bus circle, and trail system around the lake. Duties would include communicating and explaining the rules and expectations to visitors, cleaning toilet facilities, cleaning campsites, cutting grass, posting signage, and small repair projects. Hosts must have their own/bring a hard-sided RV or Camper, housing is not provided. Forest Service provides water, power and septic hook up. Soft-sided tents are not acceptable due to bears in the area. Pets are acceptable but must be leashed while in the Scenic Area. Pets must be well behaved since they will be be around visitors. Hosts will operate different types of motorized tools and equipment e.g. weed whackers, mowers, golf cart, hand tools etc. Hosts may drive Forest Service vehicles, thus valid driver's license is required. Being a people person is a must.
