The division of facility management is responsible for all the facilities within the Flagstaff monuments. That responsibility includes facilities like visitor centers, housing, park roads and trails. Additional duties that this division takes care of include custodial work and daily maintenance of park equipment and vehicles.


Facilities & Maintenance Volunteers assist park staff with custodial services, a variety of long-term maintenance projects, and filling work requests generated by staff and residents. Current needs are primarily in weekend custodial duties.


Tasks in this position include but are not limited to:

  • cleaning visitor restrooms and main areas of visitor centers
  • picking up trash along roadways or trails
  • emptying park trash cans
  • repairing park signs and fences
  • trail maintenance
  • drywall repair and painting in park visitor centers and housing
  • shoveling snow

The majority of Facilities Maintenance staff work a Monday - Thursday 10hr day schedule. Custodial staff are present Friday - Sunday. Volunteers can work any of these days and times.
