Now accepting applications for 2027 recreation season volunteer positions at Wilson Lake, Kansas

Park Maintenance: Administration Area, Minooka, Lucas & Sylvan Parks

May 1 - Oct. 31, 2027

3 positions (open to couples or individuals)

Free campsite for volunteers working 15 hours / week

Duties include:

• monitor park use and report issues
• Inspect bathrooms for cleanliness and toilet paper (augments contracted service periods)
• Check for cleanliness, safety and repairs to park facilities (nature trails, shelters, playgrounds, etc.)
• Assist with minor maintenance (replace signs, painting, raking playground surfaces, inspecting fire extinguishers, etc.)
• Mow yard (administration area only)
• Trim & prune trees and shrubs (especially after storms)
• Inspect and treat natural resource areas for invasive species
• Transport government vehicles for oil and tire changes
• Position may require a driver's license, background check, or other clearances
