Recreation Technician

The Santa Catalina Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest is seeking Volunteer Recreation Technicians. As a Volunteer Recreation Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our forests clean, safe, and enjoyable for all. The volunteer's primary duties are:

• Maintaining trailheads, campgrounds, picnic sites, and other public use areas.
• Collecting trash and picking up litter.
• Conducting safety checks and ensuring that our recreation sites meet the necessary standards.
• Driving a government vehicle to check on and maintain recreation sites.
• Engaging with visitors to provide information on recreation and conservation.

We are asking for an 8 hour a week commitment. Trailer pads are available with a commitment of 24 hours a week. We ask volunteers to commit a minimum of 3 months up to a maximum of 6 months. Start and end dates are flexible.

Our Sabino Canyon trailer spots can accommodate a 31ft trailer but no pets are allowed. Our Palisades trailer spots accommodate a 22ft trailer and pets are allowed but is at an elevation of around 8,000 feet. When applying please describe your camp setup if you would like to utilize our camp spots.
